I'm excited to share that one of my portraits has been featured on the cover of Local Life Magazine’s equestrian issue. This is my second time having a photo chosen for a magazine cover — the first was with Eclectic Horseman — and it's just as meaningful now as it was then.
This issue celebrates the deep-rooted equestrian lifestyle woven into the culture of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and Beaufort, and I’m honored to contribute a piece of that story. The cover image was taken at the beautiful Rose Hill Equestrian Center and features Smudge — a horse with a striking presence and gentle spirit. His shiny coat, bold blaze, and calm gaze came together for a portrait that feels both powerful and quietly introspective.
As a professional horse and dog photographer based in South Georgia, I’ve always believed that the best portraits come from real connection. Whether I’m photographing in Bluffton, Statesboro, Savannah, or elsewhere across the Southeast, I aim to capture the relationship between animals and their people in a way that feels honest and timeless.
Big thanks to Local Life Magazine for featuring this portrait — I’m grateful for the opportunity and thrilled to see Smudge's image out in the world in such a beautiful way.
